Ivan Jarny is a Holocaust survivor who fought a tremendous struggle for survival during the second world war.

He served as a partisan in occupied Czechslovakia while trying to protect his family from the sadistic Nazi regime. After the war was finally over he was one of the small number of Jewish people in his area to survive before migrating.

Recently, he told his story to Australian independent film maker Matt Bolin who has made a documentary about Jarny.

Bolin says it was important for Jarny, as well as himself, to tell his story through the lens of a camera.

“We wanted to create as much awareness as possible regarding the impact the Holocaust had to ensure it is never forgotten for generations to come and try to make our society a better place.”

To this end, Bolin has put a two part video on Youtube.

The first part of the video is the documentary of Jarny’s story. It can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Htn85Ur-Yl4&feature=youtu.be

The second part is an interview with Jarny in which he discusses his outlook on life and gives advice to today’s youth about what can be done to make the world a better place. It can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vBq3rIsA6t8

Bolin asks that people share the documentary around to as many other people as possible.
