By Michael Kuttner….

For the second time in two months we have had an “only in Israel” experience while traveling on the train.

The first time a total stranger presented us with a Tu B’Shevat plant as a gift for the holiday. This week as we traveled north again two musicians appeared at the front of the carriage and entertained passengers with a lively medley. After their short recital everyone burst into applause, shouted kol hakavod (well done) and offered donations in appreciation. The musicians then proceeded to the next carriage to repeat their performance.

Where else in the world would one encounter a live instrumental serenade on a commuter train?
