Attention all Years 7 to 13 students!

Paul Seideman (1928 – 2021) was a Holocaust survivor who established an annual composition contest to encourage Aotearoa New Zealand students to learn more about the Holocaust. As a young Jewish boy from Czechoslovakia, Paul survived several years in Nazi German concentration camps during World War II. Upon liberation, Paul emigrated from Europe to Australia, eventually settling in New Zealand. To commemorate the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau by the Soviet Army on 27 January 1945, Paul funded this annual competition.

Entries for 2024 are now open, closing Monday 30 September.
