The internationally celebrated World of Music, Arts and Dance (WOMAD) festival hits New Zealand next month (16-18 March 2018).

It returns to its long-time home in New Plymouth, Taranaki and boosts a stellar array of local and international musicians and artists.

This year Israeli musician Victoria Hanna will be among those performing.

Despite pressure from New Zealand’s BDS campaign to get Israeli performer Hanna removed from the bill, the WOMAD organisers have not backed down and she is set to perform.

To find out more about Hanna, read well known New Zealand music journalist, Graeme Reid’s, Elsewhere world music questionnaire with Hana here.

Also, see her introduction on the WOMAD website here. And articles on her from Jewniverse here and Public Radio International here.
