Welcome back! Shalom!

This summer is shaping up to be a wonderful summer for everyone – lots of sunshine, and warm temperatures. And for those keen on sea swims the ocean is more than a bit warmer than last year!

The Library has been humming over the break, with regular services and activities for children… And now we are back in business!

First up, the International Holocaust Remembrance Day on Saturday 27th Jan. This is organised by the United Nations and the theme for this year is Holocaust Remembrance and Education: Our Shared Responsibility.

Of interest this year is a campaign to post photos of ourselves with a placard with the words “We Remember” and to post these photos to social media with the hashtag #weremember.

The aim is to get 6 million people around the world to do this in remembrance of each victim of the holocaust and to remind ourselves that today, more than ever, we need to remember.

So please consider joining in with millions of others in #weremember.

Now that we are back, pop on by and grab a few books for those long hot Shabbat days. A mystery? Literature? Novels? Non-fiction? We have a wide selection of books on all sorts of subjects. Check it out at www.rfl.nz. This is in beta mode, so please have a look around. If you have problems, or questions, please email me.

I think that’s about it for now! Enjoy the summer days coming up!
