The 16th Doc Edge Festival – Life Unscripted: 3 June – 11 July 2021
83 films. 38 days. 4 venues.
Being the first film festival in Asia-Pacific to go digital in our response to Covid-19, we delivered successfully in 2020 our festival and international industry event.
We are clear that our future will include providing digital offerings to connect people and communities beyond geographical locations. We also treasure and value live events where audiences can celebrate and come together in person.
Just as our 15th edition became our first online festival, this year’s edition is also a first. We’re bringing the festival to theatres and online – ‘hybrid’ is the term du jour, although we prefer ‘fusion’. Or Prius.
This fusion edition will bring back in-theatre screenings in Auckland and Wellington, with live Q+A sessions – and a festival village to explore and enjoy all manner of other good experiences.
