The Holocaust Centre of New Zealand invites you to our 2026 Annual Kristallnacht Commemorative Concert.

Join us for a poignant evening of performance, memory, and reflection as we commemorate Kristallnacht, “The Night of Broken Glass”.

Featuring the acclaimed Te Kōkī Trio—Inbal Megiddo (cello), Martin Riseley (violin), and Jian Liu (piano)—alongside Professor Kim Cunio (Head of the New Zealand School of Music at Victoria University of Wellington).

This evening honours the victims of the 1938 state-sponsored pogroms that marked the pivotal opening salvo of the Holocaust.

This year’s concert celebrates the extraordinary Holocaust survivors and refugees who found sanctuary in New Zealand and transformed our nation’s classical music landscape.

Escaping persecution, these pioneering musicians brought world-class vision and artistry to their new home, leaving an indelible mark on New Zealand’s cultural history.
