Wanted: a Dutch reader who would like a (free) set of books written (in Dutch) by the current owner’s Jewish foster sister Chaja Polak (https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chaja_Polak).
The current owner, Eske Hos, says Chaja Polak is an established name in the Netherlands, especially in recent times for her crusade against the recent tendency to portray those guilty of the persecution of Jews during WWII in a more forgiving or excusatory light.
She has a full set of Polak’s novels, but inherited her father’s set as well, and she would love to find a good home for these well-reviewed, quite literary books. (There are seven available, and they are in new condition.)
Eske Hos’ father was Kees Hos (https://www.theage.com.au/national/a-war-heros-greatest-fear-a-simple-knock-on-the-door-20080409-ge6y0q.html), who was well-known in New Zealand for establishing Auckland’s New Vision Galley (https://www.aucklandartgallery.com/article/the-new-vision-gallery-auckland?q=%2Farticle%2Fthe-new-vision-gallery-auckland).
Anyone interested in the books, can contact Eske Hos on 021448344 or at eske.hos@gmail.com.
