SlavFest: this Saturday 18 February at Dom Polski in Newtown, Wellington…
Hi Rebs fans:
Listen to my korero about SlavFest – uniting eastern European cultures and ethnicities on Jesse Mulligan’s Afternoons (last week), including a few snippets from Klezmer Rebs, Balkany and Niko Ne Zna.
Here is the link: https://www.facebook.com/klezmer.rebs/posts/pfbid0371hNuTNV7tr1Fh7JdzUdiPm7ACahTf5j28VzKF1UcjPuJp3WfPSpoQAtpav9dFVgl
SlavFest was established to educate the public of Wellington and New Zealand about the cultures, languages, arts and traditions of the Slavic communities and unite our Slavic communities together through common history, geography and culture. This is especially important and relevant now.
– Daytime from 10.30 am – 4.30pm will be a FREE admission faire with music (Vox Ethnos and Krakerjack), educational stalls, workshops, crafts, dance (Bulgarian Roses and Bulgarian Hora) and food – yes pirogi!.
– Our night time Balkan concert party from 6pm to 11pm is a ticketed event that features three local eastern European /Slavic/Balkan bands – the Klezmer Rebs (that’s us!), Balkany, and Niko Ne Zna – along with dance performances and eastern European beer and food.
Tickets to our night time concert party are available here: https://www.eventfinda.co.nz/2023/slavfest-nz-2023-festival-of-slavic-and-balkan-culture/wellington
Please come along and also share this event with friends who you think might be interested.
And please buy tickets to the concert. It’s expensive to stage a festival and I don’t want to end up losing my shirt!
Tickets are here – https://www.eventfinda.co.nz/2023/slavfest-nz-2023-festival-of-slavic-and-balkan-culture/wellington – or at the door from 6pm. Or just come for the free daytime event from 10.30.
See you there!
