The Holocaust Centre of New Zealand (HCNZ) is Aotearoa New Zealand’s leading organisation in Holocaust education. HCNZ inspires and empowers action against antisemitism, discrimination, and apathy by remembering, educating, and bearing witness to the Holocaust.

1. Project Coordinator

National programme to identify and combat antisemitism in schools

We are seeking a Project Coordinator to assist the HCNZ Education Director in the implementation and delivery of a national programme to provide early intervention tools to identify and combat antisemitism in schools.

This is a challenging role with important outcomes for young people and society across Aotearoa New Zealand.

We seek candidates who can offer the following experience and skills:

  • Project management
  • Survey data collection and analysis
  • Research and development of educational materials and resources for secondary education.
  • Preferred candidate will have a practising teaching certificate and at least four years’ teaching experience.

This is a 12-month fixed term appointment for 30 hrs per week. Wellington based with some national travel. Immediate start.

2. Educator

National Holocaust education programme

We are seeking a part-time Educator to assist the Education Director in the implementation of HCNZ’s education strategy and delivery of our national Holocaust education programme. This is a varied and challenging role at the forefront of best practice Holocaust education in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Suitable candidates will have the knowledge and skills to lead the development of educational materials, engage with key education stakeholders, and work with HCNZ’s education volunteers. The Educator must have experience in creating curriculum resources for schools, and a practising teaching certificate with secondary or tertiary teaching experience preferred.

This is an initial 12-month fixed term appointment for 10 hrs per week. Wellington based with some national travel. Immediate start.
