Maayan Bialik is a 14 year old school student. She has been selected to represent New Zealand in the Hip Hop International Championship taking place in Arizona USA in August.
Hip Hop Internationals (HHI) is the largest street dance event in the world attracting top talents from around the world. Last year 55 countries sent their dance teams to the USA to compete.
Despite tough competition, Maayan and her crew won a silver medal in the Junior Varsity Mega-crew category in HHI 2022.
Each participating country conducts its own Nationals, to determine the crews eligible to represent the country in the world championships. In April 2023 Maayan and her crew won first place in New Zealand Nationals and secured their participation in HHI in August this year.
To help with financing her trip to the USA, Maayan would like to run a Hip Hop class for children aged 7+ in our community. The class will take place in the new Kadimah school hall on Monday 29th May.
In her own words, Maayan would love “to get the community together through dance and have a good timean!”, and your help and participation would be greatly appreciated.
