cordially invite you to
International Holocaust Remembrance Day
Bridging the Generations: The Holocaust and Its Legacy
Auckland: 2:00 pm, Sunday, 25 January 2026
Created in 2005 by the United Nations, 27 January—the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau—is International Holocaust Remembrance Day. This has become an annual call to honour and remember the victims and survivors of the Holocaust.
This commemoration is dedicated to strengthening the crucial link between the past and the future, empowering younger generations to carry the torch of remembrance and responsibility.
Eighty-one years since liberation, the mandate of memory falls to all of us. We will preserve the memory of the Holocaust, translate lessons into action, empower successors, and uphold the promise of ‘Never Again’.
“The test of a community is how it acts on what it remembers.”
— Former Chief Rabbi of the United Kingdom, Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks.
