OPINION: Today marks 441 days that 100 precious souls, including children, youth, elderly and disabled have been enslaved in the underground terror tunnels of Gaza – in silence.
Whilst many in the world turn away, WE MUST NOT! We must stand up and be counted. Whilst many are silent, WE MUST SPEAK OUT!
In every conflict, whether moral or military, there will always be perpetrators and purveyors of evil. Adversely, in every conflict, there will always be heroes.
A hero does not have to raise a weapon or even their voice: they are often the silent ones that follow the dictates of their hearts and seek to heal or save. They are some of the greatest heroes.
Why…? Because they do not seek recognition or reward for selflessly confronting danger, destruction or death. They, quite simply, recognise the unique value of every life and determine to uphold and respect human life and dignity.
A TRUE HERO
On October 7, Oz Davidian, a farmer who lived five minutes from the site of the ‘Black Saturday’ massacre, risked his life to save over 120 youngsters. Despite being shot at numerous times by terrorists, he entered the area 15 times, loaded young people into his vehicle, and delivered them to the safety of his farm.
Oz later recalled the miraculous nature of the day, “It was clear that there was a cloud of Divine protection surrounding me on this mission. I am not religious in practise but I believe in God. I want the world to understand that these terrorists did not discriminate; they killed Jews, Muslims, Bedouins, Druzim and Christians.”
Oz stated: “We are the Am HaNetzech, the Eternal Nation, and we are not afraid and we are not backing down. We will not stop until we get back each and every one of the hostages.
“The Jewish people live and die for each other, and this is our strength which no-one can take away from us!”
It is this determined spirit that upholds those who continue to be a voice for the victims and families of October 7; the hostages and their families; the heroic fallen and fighting soldiers of the Israeli Defence Forces and their families.
Sunday, we shall gather for the 62nd ‘Israel Solidarity’ rally and declare, NEVER AGAIN IS NOW!
Attached is the poster with details of this Sunday’s rally. Please, if you are able, share this with others.
