OPINION: Briefly…Today marks 609 days that innocent people have been held captive in the underground dungeons of Gaza. Daily, they endure starvation, humiliation and torture by the blood-stained hands of radical Islamic terrorists and Gazan civilians.
October 7, 2023, peaceful Israeli communities were invaded by Satanic Islamic forces; they tortured, murdered; mass-raped; burned alive entire families and took 251 innocent people as human shields; babies, children, youth and the elderly – including the bodies of some they had murdered.
Today Israel is fighting a defensive war to bring the hostages home and to defend its people and very existence.
58 precious souls are being held in the bowels of Gaza, and the world turns away! Governments, including New Zealand’s, apply double standards to Israel – seemingly cheering on Israel’s destruction from the side-lines. They are effectively excusing and endorsing the vile actions of radical Islamists – and doubtless shall do so until these terrorists are bashing down their doors; raping, torturing and murdering their families.
It is imperative that those people who value life, liberty and justice, stand up and speak out against such evil. We cannot rely on our political, religious or community leaders to do so as their sense of morality is all but dulled by their arrogance, pride, narcissism and anti-Semitism.
‘The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.’
It is inconceivable to those who follow the dictates of compassionate and courageous hearts, to turn away from their responsibility to declare the truth of the October massacre and to demand the release of the hostages that survive in agony and silence.
We must gather as a united voice and demand a just reckoning for the perpetrators of the October 7 massacre.
We must publicly declare our solidarity with the people of the PROMISED, SOVEREIGN and ETERNAL NATION of ISRAEL.
Sunday, we shall gather for the 86th ‘Israel Solidarity’ rally and let our voices be heard.
