OPINION: Gaza: Second Islamic Republic of Iran
Our New Zealand flag is a symbol of a nation that upholds the moral and ethical values of a democracy.
It is under the New Zealand flag that our politicians swear to faithfully serve the people of our small, though spirited, nation.
It is toward the New Zealand flag that those who choose to live as free and equal citizens proudly salute.
Sadly, our flag is being sullied by political leaders who had pledged to honour its proclamation of defending our democracy by serving the people in the spirit of truth, justice and mercy.
There are those among us, both citizens and foreigners, who would seek to render our flag a tattered meaningless cloth – an impotent emblem worthy only of adorning a wasteland of injustice, inequality and servitude.
That we allow our New Zealand flag to be overshadowed by an Islamic terror flag, which celebrates the destruction of our values, I find to be abhorrent!
Having designated the entire Hamas organisation as a terrorist entity, surely our political leaders need to address the legality of the raising of their ‘Jihadist Standard’ also.
As benefactors of our democratic nation, we have the responsibility to be a voice of correction, as it is for every citizen of every truly free nation.
Should we not, as patriots, cherish and raise our flag as a symbol of that which unites those who judge as worthy its message?
Let us not look back with regret that we did not value our emblem of equality, freedom and hope, but instead allowed the perpetrators and supporters of Islamic terror to take the rightful place of our New Zealand flag.
Our political leaders, namely Luxon and Peters, having bowed to terror groups and Islamic fundamentalists, have weakened the resolve of New Zealanders to defend our own rights as a Western democracy founded upon Judeo-Christian principles.
Religious, political and community leaders have turned away from the very people who gifted us these principles and have callously discarded them for the sake of those who detest and seek to destroy these values.
Whilst our political leaders fund, through UNRWA, another ‘Palestinian state’ in Gaza, that is, ‘The Glorious Second Islamic Republic of Iran’, we, the people of New Zealand, stand in solidarity with the people of Israel.
We shall neither bow to tyranny within our borders, nor allow our friends to buckle under its burden.
Sunday, we gather again, for the 39th week, to speak the raw truth about October 7; to be a voice for the silent hostages and their families; the victims of ‘Black Saturday’ and their families; the Israeli Defence Forces and their families, and the people of the sovereign nation of Israel.
Please, if you are able, forward this message and the attached poster to others.
