Hello valued supporters and friends of Jewish Lives,

Welcome to this week’s update. This week we are focusing on the arts with two extremely talented women artists who should probably be much better known and due to their gender and their times were not sufficiently credited and valued.

  • Grace Joel is now recognized as one of New Zealand’s greatest painters but her life and career continue to be veiled in mystery. Read more
  • Mina Arndt, a talented artist, was largely ignored until the 1960s, since when her place in New Zealand art has gradually begun to be recognised. Read more
  • This week, in case you missed it, we also bring you ‘key highlights’ from the New Zealand Anti-Semitism Survey 2021 which was released last week. Read more
  • We also bring you a list of Community organisations for reference. See it here.

Enjoy!

Till next time,

The Jewish Lives Trustees
