Dear valued friends and supporters of Jewish Lives:
We hope that this finds you well and that you all had a happy Hanukah.
This week we bring you the story of the Nieman Family of Milford and Takapuna. Many thanks to Marcus Tetro for this contribution.
We also wanted to mark the passing of Sir David Levene in August this year. Sir David’s memorial service could not happen in the way that perhaps it should have been due to guest numbers being limited by Covid restrictions, but we would like to remember him as a man of great kindness, generosity and thoughtfulness. Juliet Moses gave a eulogy at a smaller gathering of Astor Foundation supporters on 7 December which she has kindly allowed us to share with you.
Hopefully, the easing of some restrictions, combined with the better weather, has allowed us all to get out and about again and to see those close to us.
Perhaps, if you are going North this Summer, you might get an opportunity to visit the new Hundertwasser Art Centre which opened this week in Whangarei. The architecture looks fabulous!
Whatever you do, stay safe. Until next time,
Jewish Lives Trustees
