Klezmer Rebs and eastern European culture fans are warmly invited to attend SlavFest 2025, a unique new festival celebrating Eastern European communities’ contributions to life in Aotearoa New Zealand.
SlavFest will be an all day FREE admission family friendly festival indoors at Te Whaea National School of Dance in Newtown, Wellington on Saturday 6 September from 10-6.30pm
Listen, eat, drink, dance and learn SlavFest will feature Ukranian, Polish, and Bulgarian cultural dance groups, and 7 Eastern European/Slavic & multicultural live bands, including Ish from Hawkes Bay.
There will be cake making workshops for children, percussion and dance workshops, artisan stalls, ethnic foods, and Eastern European beer. And yes there will be pierogi!
