Presenters in focus:
Dina Kraft is a journalist, editor and educator. She is host of “The Branch”, a podcast sponsored by Hadassah about Arab/Palestinian-Israeli coexistence in all its complexity. She is also a correspondent for both  Haaretz and  The Christian Science Monitor where she reports on Israeli and Palestinian politics, culture and society. This conversation with Tanya Thomson will explore Dina’s personal journey including her New Zealand family connections.
Dan Shamir, a top Israeli basketball coach, is the new head coach of the New Zealand Breakers. Shamir has extensive experience having won back to back Euroleague titles as an assistant coach and been named Coach of the Year in 2018 after guiding Hapoel Holon to victory in the Israeli Cup. This session in conversation with David Bigio will explore the personal and cultural challenges faced by coach Shamir and his family, and we might talk a little basketball too.
Christine Leunens is the New Zealand-Belgian author of three novels: “Primordial Soup”, “Caging Skies”, and “A Can of Sunshine”. “Caging Skies”, the inspiration for the Academy Award-winning film, Jojo Rabbit, has been nominated in France for the Prix Médicis and is regarded as the “book of the moment” in Poland. David Cohen was one of the first New Zealand writers to discover “Caging Skies”, having met and interviewed Christine Leunens for the NZ Listener magazine.
