A Canterbury museum says it’s attempting to show “both sides”of World War II. But some say their treatment of an elite Nazi unitis far from ideal.

At Geraldine’s Military Museum, amid the tanks and machinery of war,a display aims to show “the other side” of the World War II conflict.

There is a Nazi flag and mannequins dressed in SS uniforms. Anaccompanying sign points towards the re-enactment group who created the display.

“We portray the average Waffen SS Soldaten from the 1st SS PanzerDivision LSSAH,” the sign reads, with an email address for people to find out more.

The Waffen SS was Hitler’s personal bodyguard unit, notorious for its connection to war crimes.
