At the moment we are in the midst of an intense heat wave, writes Michael Kuttner…

The weather may be sizzling but there are also other factors which contribute towards a rise in temperatures.

With the new school year about to commence the annual chaos of a threatened teachers’ strike loomed large. Would schools start on time, would working parents be forced to delay their return to their jobs and who would give in first – the teachers’ union or the Finance Ministry?

Thankfully, common sense seems to have prevailed at the last second and schools will welcome students on 1 September.

The Iranian rush to acquire weapons of mass destruction nears the finishing line and the prospect of security challenges heating up increases.

With elections looming again the political heat wave is intensifying.

SPREAD THE WORD

Providing the technology to citizens of a country which not only refuses to recognize you, but works actively to delegitimize and erase you is so weird that when it happens it should generate plenty of headlines and coverage.

Reporting about Israel however does not follow normal journalistic norms which is why you will not find any coverage in your local news sources.

Make sure your friends find out the real facts by sending them this short video.

A THROW OF THE DICE

Can Jews and Arabs playing board games together in friendly competition bring co-existence and actual peace closer?

It’s worth a try.

ART FROM THE DEAD SEA

Creating artistic items from the Dead Sea sounds like an impossibility, but in Israel nothing is impossible.

STONED

In a scene which could have been taken straight out of “The Life of Brian”, and amidst the total collapse of Lebanon as a viable nation, two Lebanese cabinet ministers were caught on cameral throwing stones at Israel on the northern border.

As an example of how reality is subverted by farcical fanaticism this is a classic. Instead of dealing with the causes of Lebanon’s collapse and making peace with Israel these legislators prefer to indulge in futile nonsense.
