Israel’s entry in this year’s Eurovision contest finished a credible third in the final round, writes Michael Kuttner

Noa Kirel confounded the critics by her outstanding performance. She had to battle the usual inbuilt bias against Israel, especially as this year the contest took place in the midst of yet another barrage of rockets from Gaza.

Meanwhile, Anglophobes and UK expatriates are excited at media reports that King Charles and Queen Camilla could be making a royal visit to Israel. Given the realities of the political minefields associated with such a potential visit it is a mute point as to whether it will actually materialize.

WELCOME

Israel recently welcomed 1,400 delegates from all over the world to the International Baha’i convention.

Naturally, this is another reality that the international media ignores.
