Celebrating Shavuot in Israel makes one realize what this Festival is really all about.

Its agricultural traditions connected to the harvest and beginning of summer is clearly evident.

The anniversary of the birth of our nation and receiving our “constitution” at Mount Sinai marks the final long trek to the Land promised to our Patriarchs and Matriarchs. Living here makes that anniversary so much more relevant.

The story of Ruth which we read is so relevant these days as we witness those who stand by the Jewish People despite all challenges. The sight of long lost Jews from the time of the Inquisition returning to the faith of their ancestors is a miraculous reminder of prophecies being fulfilled.
