This Friday Jerusalem hosted the 14th International marathon with competitors participating from overseas as well as from Israel.
There are six categories: full marathon – 42.2km; half marathon – 21.1km; 10km; 5km; family – 1.7km; community – 800m.
The marathon routes pass through fascinating historical sites that shed light on 3,000 years of Jewish history in Jerusalem – the eternal capital of Israel.
In addition to those running or walking and raising money for various charitable causes there will be thousands of supporters lining the route to cheer on the participants.
