The IDF, led by the Central Supply Center within the Technology and Logistics Directorate, has completed preparations for Rosh Hashanah across its various units.
Preparations for the holiday are taking place this year as well amid ongoing operational activity on multiple fronts, with an emphasis on meeting the needs of deployed forces and combat units.
As part of the preparations, a special solution has been developed for deployed frontline units, including approximately 10,000 packages adapted to combat conditions in the field.
The packages contain all the ingredients needed for a Rosh Hashanah meal, including individual portions of honey, honey cake, apple snacks, a plate of traditional holiday foods and a booklet of blessings.
Among other items, the preparations include 12 tons of pomegranates, the same amount of apples, 9.6 tons of honey, 103 tons of fish, 15 tons of honey cake, 271,000 desserts and 93,000 bottles of grape juice.
Throughout the holiday, deployed forces will continue to receive logistical support in the field from Logistics Corps personnel accompanying them. This support includes additional food products tailored to the needs of soldiers and the conditions in operational areas.
Food adapted to a variety of dietary needs has also been provided across all fronts, including for soldiers with celiac disease, as well as soldiers on vegan and vegetarian diets, in order to ensure that all IDF personnel have their needs fully met throughout the holiday.
KOTEL CLEAN UP
Prior to Pesach and Rosh Hashanah all the notes left by worshippers at the Kotel are gathered up and buried in accordance with religious requirements.
