This year’s commemoration of Tisha B’Av was more memorable than usual.
Several events marked this saddest day in the Jewish religious calendar.
It marked the twentieth anniversary of the disastrous ethnic cleansing of Jews from Gaza.
It has witnessed the greatest upsurge and manifestation of Jew hate since the Shoah.
It has exposed the shameful, craven capitulation, spinelessness and appalling appeasement of political leaders in democratic countries. At the same time it has confirmed beyond a shadow of a doubt a servile surrender to lies and mistruths on the part of the United Nations and its associated bodies.
This past Shabbat, on the eve of Tisha B’Av, we started to read from the last Book of the Torah, Devarim (Deuteronomy). The Israelites are poised to assume sovereignty in the Promised Land and Moses is recounting past events and what needs to happen in the future.
I couldn’t resist a sense of ironic bemusement as the Torah reader chanted the narrative.
Here we are in the year 2025 of the civil calendar, living and praying in the very places that our ancestors settled at the dawn of Jewish sovereignty. We are here in the exact territory which eventually witnessed the rule of the Judges and the reign of King David and King Solomon.
The immense irony is that nations which today condemn Jews for daring to live in our historical homeland did not even exist at the time that the Israelites achieved sovereignty. The Jewish People had already received their charter at Mount Sinai and blueprint for statehood long before the countries condemning Israel today became recognizable entities.
Benjamin Disraeli put it best when he stated in the House of Commons: “When the ancestors of the Right Honourable Gentleman were savages in an unknown island, mine were priests in the Temple of Solomon.”
Our response to the current litany of lies emanating from the UK, France, Belgium, Ireland, Germany, Spain, Canada and Australia among others should be similar.
The Jewish People had already established a governing sovereignty in its land when London, Paris, Brussels, Dublin, Berlin, Madrid, Ottawa and Canberra were non existent settlements. Given historical realities, what gives you the right to demand that they must now surrender it?
If insanity is defined as a compulsion to endlessly repeat the same disastrous mistakes then all those who continue to sing the “two state solution” chorus, certainly qualify.
Listen closely to what is being demanded by many countries.
Unless Israel agrees to “end the appalling situation in Gaza, reaches a ceasefire, makes sure that Judea and Samaria are not part of the Jewish State and ensures the establishment of two states, the aforementioned nations and others will unilaterally recognize “Palestine” at the forthcoming UN General Assembly meeting in September.
Illustrating the illusionary hallucinations of those concerned, Israel is advised that this fake “Palestine” will be demilitarized, undertake democratic reforms, commit to peaceful co-existence, Hamas will be disarmed and all hostages released. A brief survey of these expectations exposes their fallacious façade.
Demilitarized: Exactly how is that to be achieved? Who will do it and who will enforce it? How will the building of terror tunnels and the stockpiling of clandestine armaments be prevented? Nowhere in the Middle East or elsewhere for that matter has a successful demilitarized country ever been created.
Democratic reforms: Another fantasy. Name one Arab Islamic country where real democracy prevails. Abbas was “elected” in 2005 and since then there have been no further elections. The fact is that this mythical “Palestine” and democratic reforms are mutually exclusive.
Peaceful co-existence: How exactly is this going to be achieved? An educational system whose textbooks peddle incitement and hate against Jews, Judaism, Israel and Zionism would need to be completely abolished. Who exactly is going to preach and teach “peaceful co-[existence while religious and political leaders encourage intolerance and jihadist conspiracies and teachers in UNRWA schools are paid up members of Hamas?”
Disarmed Hamas: This terror group and its allied offshoots have already clearly stated that they will never disarm or renounce their main objective which is a “free Palestine from the river to the sea with Jerusalem as its Capital.” This objective is clearly the end goal of the PLO/PA. The only difference is in the method to be employed. Should it be outright terror or diplomatic warfare? Clearly the latter has a better chance of success if the current craven responses of the international community are anything to go by.
Hostages released: The prospect of all hostages, alive and dead, being released remains elusive. The terrorist groups are hoping that international sanctions and pressure will force Israel’s hand to surrender. Given the results so far why should they release all the hostages? Macron has intimated that terrorists who murdered Israelis and are being held in jail can also be classified as “hostages.”
Do any of those demanding Israel hand its historical and legal heartland and Capital over to a mythical “Palestine” actually believe the garbage they spout? If they do, then they are confirmed fools and peddlers of irredeemable insanity. If they do not, they can be confirmed as fraudsters and charlatans.
Either way, kowtowing to their demands is unthinkable.
The twentieth anniversary of the evacuation of Gaza as a first step towards a “democratic, peace loving and tolerant Palestine” is a grim reminder of how gullibility can result in lethal consequences. At the time all Jews, alive and dead, were ethnically cleansed from Gaza, the international community issued solemn declarations that a new era of peace was imminent. Israel’s own peace delusional lemmings celebrated the dawn of a messianic age with visions of Arafat’s terrorists embracing tolerance and fraternity.
We were assured that no terrorist would dare to fire rockets from Gaza and that if they opted to do so they would face the consequences.
The day after Tisha B’Av, Jewish communities in Gaza were expelled and cemeteries uprooted. Traumatic scenes not seen since the Shoah of Jews being forcefully dragged from their communities shocked the nation. Those advocating for a “free Palestine” cheered and Israel basked in the temporary approval of a cynical United Nations.
It did not take long for this utopian mirage to vanish and be replaced by the blood thirsty jihadists we face today. After twenty years of terror and an agenda which promotes death and destruction the poisonous aftermath is clear. The naïve experiment of establishing a peaceful and tolerant Islamic State is a disastrous failure. The sole aim is to terrorize Israel until the international community reacts by pressuring it to once again surrender “land for peace.”
The success of this strategy can now be plainly seen.
It is predicated on the correct assumption that most of the UN prefers appeasement of jihadist threats and that once again upstart Jews need to be put in their place. The tsunami of Jew hate confirms that there has never been a better time to once again throw the Jews under the bus.
Proving that international insanity is congenital is the fact that the Australian Government has just announced a further 20 million dollar grant to UNRWA. This insane gesture comes at precisely the same time that it transpires UNRWA is still employing Hamas affiliated workers. It also comes after proof that Hamas is stealing aid and contributing towards the alleged starvation of Gaza citizens. Thanks to Albanese and Wong there will now be further supplies of food for Hamas to hijack. No wonder Abbas rang Albanese to thank and congratulate him. What better endorsements can one hope for?
Those peddling a “2 State solution” as the only way to bring peace become very upset when they are accused of rewarding Hamas and friends. Demonstrators who vilify Israel and laud terrorists deny reality even when it hits them in the face.
Proof that all these useful fools are indeed rewarding terror has now been provided.
Ghazi Hamad, a senior member of the Hamas politburo, told Al Jazeera over the weekend that the wave of Western nations moving to recognize a Palestinian state is the result of “the fruits” of Hamas’ October 7, 2023 massacre. “The fruits of October 7 are what caused the entire world to open its eyes to the Palestinian issue — and they are moving toward it with force. That is, that the Palestinian people are a people who deserve a country.”
The only word to describe the continued campaign for recognition of “Palestine” is contemptible.
This torrent of international hypocrisy continues:
Israel is expected to stop a war it did not start.
Free hostages it did not take.
Aid those who want to kill them.
Make peace with those who do not want it.
Be the perfect victim and never fight back.
There can be only one answer to all this.
NEVER AGAIN
