Apparently, in New Zealand in 2026, advocating for the designation of an Iranian terrorist organisation is sufficient reason to have someone publicly call for you to be run over by a car.
Not in Tehran. Not in Beirut. In New Zealand.
On 27 October, prominent Jewish lawyer and community advocate Juliet Moses posted a perfectly legitimate political request. She asked New Zealanders to support a petition calling for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to be designated a terrorist entity in this country.
The response from an X account calling itself the “Invercargill Revolutionary Guards Corps” was revealing:
“Sign my petition to run this stupid C**T over with a car!”
