A pro-Palestine march through Nelson was met by a counter protest of Israel supporters.
Wearing masks and holding signs with the names and images of people killed by Israeli gunfire, about 20 members of Te Tau Ihu Palestine Solidarity (TTIPS) marched down Trafalgar St to meet at Montgomery Square on Saturday morning.
The group gathered on the edge of the Saturday market to make speeches and protest peacefully. There, they were met by a handful of Israel supporters. While there was some robust discussion, the meeting was peaceful.
