The Holocaust Centre of New Zealand will be hosting six events for United Nations International Holocaust Remembrance Day (UNIHRD) 2024. This will be on 28 January next year, as we will not be holding it on 27 January due to that falling on a Saturday / Shabbat.
The theme of UNIHRD 2024 is “From Generation to Generation: The Future of Holocaust Memory”.
The events will be held in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Nelson, Christchurch and Dunedin. HCNZ Board and Management have decided that this year we will only be hosting one event in Wellington, at Parliament. All being well, the Yom HaShoah commemoration in May will be held at the Jewish section of the Makara Cemetery.
