The Indigenous Coalition for Israel is an international Christian initiative in partnership with the European Coalition for Israel, International Coalition for Israel, and International Coalition for Israel (USA)

ECFI has been active at the European Parliament since 2003 and at the United Nations since 2011.

The Indigenous Coalition for Israel will seek to raise a collective indigenous voice in support of Israel, locally and internationally, through education and cultural engagement.

ICFI is directed by former cabinet minister Hon Alfred Ngaro and academic Dr Sheree Trotter. They are supported by an Advisory Council of respected indigenous leaders: Kaumatua Pat Ruka, Brad Haami, Dr Ate Moala and Moka Ngaro.

ICFI recognises Jews as the original extant inhabitants of the land of Israel, who have maintained an unbroken connection to the land over millennia, in spite of expulsions, colonisation and persecution. ICFI identifies with the respect Jews hold for ancestors and the handing down of ancient histories.

Deep ties to ancestral homeland, cultural continuity, the remarkable revival of the Hebrew language, and Israel’s reestablishment in its ancient homeland, all provide an inspiration to indigenous peoples.

Among ICFI’s goals will be a stand against antisemitism. Till now, indigenous voices for Israel have largely gone unheard. This has meant that a false narrative concerning the Israel-Palestinian conflict has easily taken hold amongst indigenous peoples – and this has often bled into antisemitism.

ICFI will respond to this phenomenon with research based resources, events, media and active engagement with indigenous leaders.
