OPINION: There is a lot going on. Cyclones, tail end of a pandemic, inflation and most disturbingly an S Club 7 reunion tour.
These things play on my mind. What with a weekly column to write, these things are always on my mind.
And yet. I was sorting out the images of our Christmas trip and came across a photo I took at an obscure memorial tucked away in a corner of a city park in Portland.
I saw it marked on a map and forced my small family to trek towards it. Past the rhododendrons, the Lewis and Clark column and the world-famous-in-Portland Rose Garden.
The history of mankind includes some outstanding achievements.
We put a dozen men on the moon for no other reason than we could.
Elon Musk sent a car into space for, well, no one really knows, possibly including himself.
