Important information for Yom HaZikaron and Yom Ha’atzmaut

Yom HaZikaron

Please join the Zionist Federation of NZ and the New Zealand Jewish community at 7pm on Monday 27 April for an online Yom HaZikaron Tekes (service) which can be viewed on both Facebook and YouTube at the links below.

If you know of someone who whilst serving in the IDF was killed in the line of duty, or someone who was a victim of terror, please upload a picture or video to the Yom HaZikaron Facebook page of you and/or your family lighting a memorial candle in their honour.

Following the Yom HaZikaron Tekes, there will be a talk, hosted by the AHC, by Dr Dudu Hakimian on “my injury at battle is what made me a doctor today” (see below for more information). The talk can be accessed after the Tekes from here.

Yom Ha’atzmaut

Please join the Zionist Federation of New Zealand and the Auckland Hebrew Congregation in celebrating this year’s Yom Ha’atzmaut via Zoom (address below) from 6.30pm on Tuesday 28 April.

6.30pm – Maariv followed by Hallel hosted by the AHC

7pm – Please join us to raise a glass with the ZFNZ for a L’Chaim to Israel followed by an Israel sing-a-long at home by David Shenkin, Avi Shenkin, Julz Nathan, Channan Elias and Alan Brown
