Bring the kids along! We have an amazing children’s programme for ages 5 – 12, packed with activities, storytelling, music, and fun engaging sessions. Your kids will have an awesome time, while you enjoy the rest of the event, knowing they’re in wonderful hands.

Children must be accompanied by an attending adult.

SPEAKER SPOTLIGHTS OF THE WEEK

Lindsey Taylor-Guthartz (UK) – Rabba Dr. Lindsey Taylor-Guthartz is a teacher, translator, and thought leader who believes that Jewish text is for everyone. She received Orthodox ordination from Yeshivat Maharat (2021) and is a co-founder of Azara, a grass-roots learning initiative in the UK.

She studied at Cambridge University, and University College London, and published her first book, Challenge and Conformity: The Religious Lives of Orthodox Jewish Women, in 2021. She is currently working on a second book about the history of the Limmud festival.

Dr. Jessica Young (NZ) – Dr Jessica Young is a sociologist and senior research fellow in the School of Health at Te Herenga Waka – Victoria Univeristy of Wellington. Her PhD (Otago) focused on the perspectives of terminally ill people who would consider choosing assisted dying. Since the End of Life Choice Act passed, her post-doctoral research has been investigating the experiences of people using the assisted dying process, their families, and assisted dying providers. She leads several projects on assisted dying including the first national study ‘Exploring the early experiences of the assisted dying service in Aotearoa New Zealand”, with $1.4m funding from the Health Research Council.

Ariel Levinson-Waldman (US/NZ) – Ariel Levinson-Waldman is an American lawyer. Since 2017, he has been the Founding Director of Tzedek DC, a nonprofit public interest center in Washington, D.C. Drawing from the Jewish teachings of “Tzedek, tzedek tirdof”, or “Justice, justice you shall pursue”, Tzedek DC’s mission is to safeguard the legal rights and financial health of DC residents with low incomes dealing with the often devastating consequences of abusive debt collection practices and other consumer related issues. Previously, Ariel served in President Obama’s administration; in the DC Office of the Attorney General; and as a lawyer for the U.S. House of Representatives. Ariel and his wife Rachel Levinson-Waldman – a civil liberties lawyer at the Brennan Center for Justice and current Axford Fellow in New Zealand – live with their daughter and son.
