Shalom friends,
Whether you are Jewish, Christian or secular, I salute your bravery in being a voice for the silenced victims of ‘Black Saturday’, October 7, and your public declaration of support for Israel during its people’s time of mourning and conflict.
I recognize that many of you have experienced a hostile mood change from others because of; either who you are or who you support in the present Israeli defensive war.
As uncomfortable as these situations may be for us, our response will always be a reflection on us.
Therefore, we have a responsibility to be patient and gracious, yet bold and truthful – most especially if we are to hope for future reconciliation.
Perhaps, a determination to uphold our values and extend the hand of peace to our adversaries, may be the path into hearts that have been hardened.
I believe that no-one is beyond redemption and am sincerely hopeful of ‘ears hearing’, ‘eyes seeing’ and hearts opening.
Weekly, we gather to speak truth, march in peace and raise the flag of ‘Ha Tikvah’, and shall continue to stand for that which we believe and hope.
Please, if you are able, forward this message and attached poster to others.
Am Yisrael Chai.
