Holocaust Survivors Honored in Worldwide Chanukah Celebration
Please join us: Wednesday 21 December at 7.30AM NZST for the online event
This year’s virtual event focuses on the theme of hope in the face of rising antisemitism.
It features special guests, including President of Israel Isaac Herzog, Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz, Barbara Streisand, Henry Winkler, Jason Alexander, and Dr Ruth Westheimer.
There will be a musical performance by the cast of the Yiddish production of Fiddler on the Roof, National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene.
Messages of hope will be heard from Holocaust survivors recently evacuated from Ukraine as well as survivors from over a dozen countries.
The highlight of the event will be a livestream of the official menorah lighting ceremony at the Western Wall (Kotel) in Israel.
